Floor Sanding & Wood Floor Restoration London

Tired, scratched or grey floorboards and parquet brought back to clean, even timber with a finish that suits how you live.

Dust-controlled sanding, repairs, gap filling, staining and a fresh oil or lacquer finish.

Before any machine goes on the floor we check what we're working with: how much wear layer is left on engineered boards, whether there are loose or broken boards, old nails, or patches of previous repairs that need dealing with first.

We sand with dust-extracted machines in stages, then fix what needs fixing — loose blocks re-glued, damaged boards replaced, gaps filled where it's sensible. Then we finish with a stain if you want a different colour, and a hardwax oil or lacquer chosen for how much wear the room gets.

Period floorboards, Victorian pine, oak parquet and engineered floors with a thick enough top layer can all be restored.

What's included

01

Floor assessment

We check the wear layer, fixings and damage so you know what result is realistic before we start.

02

Dust-controlled sanding

Extracted belt and edge sanders, worked through the grits for a flat, even surface.

03

Repairs

Loose parquet re-bonded, split or rotten boards replaced, old nails punched below the surface.

04

Gap filling

Resin and timber filling, or slivers for wider gaps in period boards, where it will last.

05

Stain & colour

Test patches on your own floor so you see the real colour before the whole room is done.

06

Oil or lacquer

Hardwax oils for a natural look, or hard-wearing lacquers for kitchens, hallways and rentals.

Questions

Asked before, answered honestly.

How dusty is floor sanding?
Our machines are connected to dust extraction, which captures most of it. There is always some fine dust, so we seal doorways and ask you to clear the room, but it's nothing like the old days of sanding.
Can engineered wood be sanded?
Usually yes, if the top wear layer is thick enough — often 3mm or more allows at least one full sand. We check by lifting a threshold or looking at an edge before quoting.
How long before I can walk on the floor?
With most finishes you can walk on it in socks the next day and put furniture back after two to three days. Rugs are best left off for a week or so while the finish fully cures.
